Story behind HairOPD
Dr. Gaurav Raj Chhabra may not fit into the stereotype image of a regular physician. Having worked with some of the best medical organizations in India, he is well known for innovative excellence and creativity in his works. Wherever he worked, one question was often put across to him by the patients: “How do you take care of your hair?”. And then the queries about their own hair problems would follow. Friendly medical advice to these patients, sorted out their hair issues well and they would then show up with their friends and family members with hair issues. Getting to see patients happy with the outcomes of treatment has its own charm for any physician and that is when Dr Gaurav decided to move from research field to clinical practice and formalize his clinical services in the form of a dedicated hair clinic- HairOPD.
The finesse in his work further brewed over years of observer-ship and focused work in Hair Department at a Pune based Skin clinic along with international training in the field of Trichology and allied fields. HairOPD clinic is housed in Dermakraft HQ in Pune. Dermakraft is a medical and allied aesthetic cluster offering integrated services and training in the field of Aesthetic medicine and allied faculties. The cluster approach provides a dynamic and interactive approach towards free exchange of ideas and skills amongst various medical and allied faculties towards a common goal of crafting the best personalized solutions for the aesthetic-functional requirements of the niche clientage. Various academic wings and Centre of Excellence housed in the HQ, make sure that there is a constant upgrade in the knowledge and skills with direct implication on the practice and service provision by various Dermakraft units.
CEIT, Pune
Centre of Excellence in Integral Trichology, is the academic partner of HairOPD and was established with a vision to explore and promote through practice and research, the interdisciplinary learning and knowledge sharing among the closely allied but professionally distant fields of basic medical trichology, general trichology, Scalp Micro Pigmentation, cosmetic and beauty industry among others. The centre aims to promote public health and academic excellence in the field, by offering short term skill development masterclasses in the field of Integral Trichology for registered allopathic physicians as well as General trichologists and beauty professionals.
